Main Window

This chapter explains the eTuner main-window status bar, common entry points, and window behavior. Most functions require a drive connection before parameter, motion, recording, or status operations can be used.

Main-Window Status Bar

Area Purpose
Current connection ID Shows the current drive ID after connecting and clears it after disconnecting. Before changing parameters, moving, or saving, confirm that it identifies the target device.
Connection/enable state Shows Disconnected before connection, then Disabled or Enabled according to the drive state.
View Help The button at the right end of the status bar opens this help document in Chinese or English, according to the current interface language. It is available before a drive is connected.
Version information After connecting, the software reads device information such as firmware version and serial number. Some information is display- or diagnosis-only and requires no user action.

eTuner does not connect to a drive automatically at startup. Most function buttons remain unavailable until a connection is established.

Disconnected eTuner main window
When opening the main window for the first time, check the top status bar, language selector, and Connection entry point. View Help is at the right end of the status bar, and Information is in the lower-right corner.

Language and Basic State

  1. After starting the client, select Simplified Chinese or English at the top of the main window.
  2. On first entering the main window, check that the status bar shows Disconnected.
  3. Click Connection to open Target Connection and establish communication.
  4. After connecting, verify the current connection ID, connection state, and enable state before using another function.

Interface text changes with the selected language. During field operation, rely on the device ID and state shown in the current interface; an open window alone does not confirm a successful connection.

Common Entry Points

Entry Point Purpose Description
Connection Scans for, selects, and connects a drive. Available before connection and is the first step before using other functions.
Parameter Uploads parameter backups, downloads parameter files, and restores factory parameters. Downloading and restoring factory parameters write to the drive. Verify the file and target device.
Safety Param Views and changes Safety Speed, Safety Power, Pos Limit, and Motor Stuck parameters on separate tabs of one window. Available after connection. Each tab can be popped out as a separate window; see Safety Parameters Window below.
Status Monitor Views real-time status, warnings, position, speed, current, temperature, inputs, and outputs. Settings in the Status Monitor window adjust the monitoring display; they do not write device parameters.
Information Views read-only information for the connected device or module. Confirms model, firmware, and hardware information; it does not edit device data.
Save Saves modified parameters to drive Flash. Apply parameters before clicking Save. Wait about three seconds and do not power off, disconnect, switch target devices, or send another command until saving is confirmed.
Stop Stops or exits the current enabled or motion-related state. Does not replace a field emergency stop. Before motion, confirm that this entry point is available and safe stopping conditions exist.
Recorder Acquires, displays, triggers, and saves operating data. Do not click the entry repeatedly while Recorder is open or acquiring data.

Safety Parameters Window

Starting with version 13.81, the four main-window buttons Safety Power, Pos Limit, Safety Speed, and Motor Stuck are combined into one Safety Param button. Clicking it opens the Safety Parameters window, which shows the four settings as tabs:

Tab Main Content Details
Safety Speed Current speed, maximum permitted speed, maximum permitted speed error, emergency-stop deceleration, and soft speed error. Safety Speed
Safety Power Current-, torque-, temperature-, three-phase-current-, and bus-voltage-related protection thresholds. Safety Power
Pos Limit Current position, maximum permitted position error, soft position error, and minimum/maximum position limits. Pos Limit
Motor Stuck Stuck conditions, soft-stuck thresholds, torque-control limits, and the maximum speed limit. Motor Stuck
  1. After connecting the drive, click Safety Param in the main window.
  2. Click a tab at the top of the window to switch pages. Each tab has its own Apply and Refresh, which act only on the parameters of that tab.
  3. To view two pages at the same time, click Pop Out in the upper-left corner. The current page opens as a separate window next to the Safety Parameters window, and its tab shows a hint and a Dock Back button.
  4. Click Dock Back on the tab, or in the upper-left corner of the window, to return the popped-out page to its tab.

Left: after the Motor Stuck page is popped out, its tab shows a hint and a Dock Back button. Right: the popped-out Stuck Protection window.

A popped-out window is the same page as the one on the tab; parameter meanings, Apply, and Refresh are unchanged. Changes are written to Flash only after clicking Save in the main window.

Opening Windows

  1. Click a main-window button to open the corresponding feature window.
  2. If the window is already open, clicking again normally brings it to the foreground.
  3. After closing or hiding a window, open it again from the main window.
  4. When disconnected, the software clears the connection state and closes or disconnects several feature windows.

An open window does not prove the device is online. Before writing, saving, moving, or resetting, verify the current connection ID, status bar, and target device.
